You can find Shade Fashions up on the 2nd floor of Om Chambers. That’s at #3 on New Bel Road. If you know that road, you know the traffic is always a bit much, especially in the evenings. Our office is a bit quieter since we’re a few floors up. The stairs are a little narrow, so most people take the lift if it’s working. Inside, it’s a mix of desks and clothing samples. We have some big windows that look out over the street, so we see all the madness below while we work. It’s not a huge space, but we’ve managed to fit everyone in. There’s usually a pile of courier bags near the door waiting to be picked up. We drink a lot of tea while we go over designs or check the books. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that right now. We’ve got racks of clothes along one wall and some old filing cabinets along the other. It feels like a real working space, not a showroom. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it’s just someone lost looking for another office in the building. We just point them the right way and get back to it. It’s a good spot for us because everything we need is right there on New Bel Road, even if parking is a nightmare.
