Our small office is on the ground floor of Warden House, right near the ESI Hospital quarters in Indiranagar. If you know Bangalore at all, you know Indiranagar is a very busy place, but our little corner stays a bit quieter than the main roads. We spend our days looking at people’s work histories and trying to put them into the right words on paper. It is a lot of typing and fixing typos. People come to us when they are looking for a new job and do not know how to explain what they have been doing for the last few years. We sit down with them or talk over the phone to get the details. It is not a very fancy setup here. We have a few computers and some chairs for people to sit while they wait. Sometimes the hospital traffic makes it hard to find a parking spot nearby, but we make do. We have seen all sorts of people come through those doors, from young kids just out of college to older folks who have not updated a resume in twenty years. It takes a lot of patience to get all the dates and titles right. We do not use any special software, just our own eyes and a lot of back-and-forth emails. It is a quiet kind of work. We mostly just drink our coffee and keep working through the files we have every morning.
