Sayediya Stores

Sayediya Stores is located on the Main Road in Ganganagar, Bangalore. I’ve been running this place for several years now, and it has become a big part of my daily routine. The shop is a general provision store where we keep all the things people need for their homes. We have big containers of grains and pulses lined up against the wall. The shelves are filled with soaps, detergents, and various packaged foods. It’s a busy area, so I see a lot of different people every day. Some are just passing through and want a cold soda, while others are neighbors doing their weekly shopping. I try to keep the stock updated, but sometimes the delivery truck is late and the shelves look a bit empty. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it helps with the Bangalore heat. I handle the accounts in a thick register that I keep under the counter. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people are inside at once. I usually have my lunch while sitting on a crate in the back. There is always some cleaning or organizing to be done. I know most of the people who live in the nearby apartments. They usually come in the evening when the weather is a bit cooler. It’s a simple way to make a living, just selling goods and chatting with the folks who stop by. The hours are long but I’m used to it by now and it works.
