Sai Creation

Our little workspace is over at No. 1/1 on the 3rd Cross of Begur Main Road. Bommanahalli is a pretty crowded place these days with all the new buildings coming up. Our shop is just one of many along the road. We’ve been at this spot for a while, just doing our thing with garments and stitching. It’s a small space, mostly filled with rolls of cloth and a couple of machines. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s just a few of us working here every day. The noise from the main road is always there in the background. We usually have the door open to let some air in. People stop by when they’re walking to the bus stop or heading home from work. We don't have a big sign with flashing lights. It’s just a simple board outside. We spend most of our time measuring things and cutting fabric. Sometimes we get behind on orders when it’s a busy month, but we try to keep up as best as we can. It’s not a fancy boutique with carpets. The floor is just plain and we have simple wooden stools for people to sit on. We know the neighbors and the guy who sells tea at the corner. It’s a very local kind of life. We just focus on the work in front of us and try to stay busy. That’s how we’ve always done things.
