Rr City Taxi

We have the office near the G E B Sub Station in Uttarahalli. It's a busy corner near Bri Residency. The cars are parked outside most of the day unless they are out on a trip. It gets quite dusty with all the construction and traffic around here. I spend a lot of time on the phone, talking to drivers and making sure they know where they are going. We have a small desk and a couple of chairs for when the drivers come in to settle their accounts for the day. Sometimes the cars need repairs, so we have to deal with the mechanics down the road. It’s a lot of coordination to keep everything running on time, but mostly it is just waiting for the next call to come in. The sun hits the front of the office in the afternoon, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. There are a few regular customers from the apartments nearby who call us whenever they need to go to the market or the hospital. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that, just a phone number that people know. Every day is pretty much the same, watching the cars go out and come back, and hoping the traffic isn't too bad on the main road. It’s hard work keeping the vehicles clean, especially during the rainy season when the mud gets everywhere. We just try to keep the tires good and the fuel tanks full so we are ready.
