Roshan General Hardware

Avenue Road is a crowded place, and Roshan General Hardware sits right in the middle of it at 94/2. If you know Saijpur Bogha, you know how busy it gets around here. Our shop is packed from floor to ceiling with bins of bolts, hinges, and all sorts of tools. It’s hard to keep everything organized, but we usually know exactly which drawer holds the specific screw someone is looking for. The air smells like metal and cardboard. Most days, it’s a constant stream of people coming in for a single pipe fitting or a gallon of paint. We don’t have a fancy display window. Instead, we have stacks of buckets and coils of wire near the entrance. My father started this, and now we just keep it going day by day. The noise from Avenue Road never really stops, so you have to shout a bit sometimes to be heard over the traffic. We don't bother with uniforms or anything like that. We just wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of rust or dust on. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and counting out small parts for customers. Sometimes the inventory is a bit of a mess, but we manage. If you need something for a repair, we’re usually standing right behind the counter ready to help you find it. That’s just how we do things at 94/2 Avenue Road.
