Rome Designs

Our office is over in Tusker Town, right there in Shivaji Nagar on Infantry Road. It's on the second floor of 203, just across from the Blue Mountain Building. It can get pretty noisy outside with all the traffic and people moving around, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Rome Designs is basically just a few of us who like putting rooms together. We spend a lot of time looking at fabric samples and picking out colors that don't clash too much. The space here is a bit cramped because we have piles of catalogs and tiles sitting in the corners. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. Sometimes customers come in to talk about their kitchens or living rooms, and we just sit around the big table and sketch things out. We don't use a lot of big words or try to act like we know everything. We just listen to what people want and try to figure out if it's actually possible to do it with their budget. Some days are just spent on the phone tracking down suppliers who are late with deliveries. That happens more than we'd like. We've been in this part of Bangalore for a good bit now. It's a busy area, but it feels like home to us. The elevator in this building is a bit temperamental, so we usually just take the stairs instead of waiting.
