We've been here at 218 Karthik Krupa for quite a while now. Most people around Saraswathi Nagar know where we are, right in Vijaynagar. It’s an engineering place, so there’s always something being fixed or put together. Sometimes the floor is a bit dusty and the noise from the machines can be a lot if you aren't used to it. We just get on with the jobs people bring in. It's mostly metal work and parts that need specific attention. There are a few of us here every morning, starting early before the traffic gets bad outside. The office isn't fancy, just a desk with too many papers and a coffee mug that probably needs washing. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty. It's more about getting the measurements right and making sure the parts fit like they should for the customers. If a machine breaks down, we look at it. If someone needs a piece fabricated, we try to figure out the best way to do it without wasting material. It's steady work. Sometimes the weather gets hot and we keep the fans running all day long. We've seen the neighborhood change over the years, more buildings going up, but we're still here doing the same kind of stuff. It’s not a big corporate setup, just a local enterprise trying to keep things moving. We usually close up when the sun starts going down, or whenever the last job for the day is finished.
