Our office is at No 18, Peniel Cottage, on 7th Main in Ramaswamypalya. It’s part of the Vigyannagar extension near Marthalli Post. It’s a bit of a strange place for a global news name like Reuters India, but it’s where we’ve been for quite some time. The building is called Peniel Cottage and it has a bit of an old Bangalore feel to it. We aren't a huge newsroom with television cameras and bright lights. It's mostly just writers and editors sitting at their computers. We spend our days checking facts and writing up reports about what's happening. It’s quiet work, and we mostly keep to ourselves. The neighborhood is fairly residential, so it’s a bit of a walk to find a good place for lunch. We don't have any big signs out front or a fancy reception area. If you walked by, you might not even know we were there. We just focus on getting the news right and meeting our deadlines. Sometimes the internet is slow or the power flickers when it rains, which is just part of living in this part of the city. We don't try to make it sound more exciting than it is. It’s just a job that needs doing, and we do it from this little corner of Karnataka. It’s practical and it works for us. We just stick to the facts and keep typing.
