Residence Hotel

We are tucked away in Cambridge Layout, specifically on 1st Cross, 12th Main in the Hal 2nd Stage area. If you know this part of town, you know it’s a bit quieter than the main roads. Running Residence Hotel means waking up early to check the laundry and see who is checking out. The building is at number 796. We have a few staff members who have been here since the start. They know all the shortcuts around the layout. Sometimes guests get a bit lost trying to find the 1st Cross, so we spend time on the phone giving directions. It’s a lot of small tasks that fill the day. Checking the water tanks, making sure the lobby looks okay, and handling the keys. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a place to stay when you’re in this side of the city. The trees on the street drop a lot of leaves, so sweeping the front is a never-ending job. We see a mix of people, from folks visiting family nearby to people here for work. It’s interesting to see who walks through the door. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything, just some chairs and a desk. It’s practical. Most of the time, we are just busy making sure the rooms are ready for the next person. That is the daily routine here in Cambridge Layout. We just keep moving and making sure the door is open for the next guest.
