Our little advertising setup is tucked away in the Jay Mahal Extension. We’re right at 1st Main and 1st Cross, which is a lot quieter than the central parts of the city. It’s a nice change of pace from the usual madness of Bangalore. The building we’re in has been around for a bit, and our office reflects that. It’s got those high ceilings and big windows that let in a lot of light, which is good when you’re staring at designs all day. We do a lot of work for local businesses, helping them figure out how to get their names out there. It’s not a high-pressure environment with people shouting into phones like you see on TV. It’s more about sitting down with a cup of coffee and sketching out ideas until something clicks. We have a lot of old posters and magazines lying around for inspiration. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we see the same people walking their dogs or heading to the shops every day. It feels more like a community than a business district. Sometimes the internet acts up or the printer jams right when we have a deadline, but we usually manage to get things sorted out somehow. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We don’t have a big sign out front, just a small one by the door. We prefer it that way because it keeps things feeling more personal and grounded.
