We are located in Flat No 003 of the Vrivadavan Appartment on Arhya Samaja Road. If you know Mangalore, you know it’s a busy spot near the center of things. Being on the ground floor makes it easy to move equipment in and out without waiting for an elevator. It’s a regular apartment that we turned into an office for Reliance Engineering Associate Pvt Ltd. It still feels like a home in some ways, with the kitchen being used for filing and the living room full of desks. We like the location because it’s close to the shops and we can walk out for lunch easily. The walls are a plain white and we have a few old calendars hanging up. There’s always a bit of dust because of the road outside, but we try to keep it tidy. It’s not the kind of place where you’d find people in suits. We usually wear whatever is comfortable for a long day of checking numbers and talking to contractors. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it's just a delivery or someone looking for a different flat. We just point them the right way and get back to work. It’s a small, functional space where we do our engineering tasks without any extra drama. The monsoon rains here are something else, and we often have to keep the door shut tight to stay dry and keep the papers from getting damp.
