Rasoi Ghar

We are over in the 560076 zip code area of Bangalore. Rasoi Ghar is basically what the name says—a kitchen. We spend most of our time around the stoves and the prep tables. It stays hot in here, and there is always the smell of spices in the air. We start early in the morning when the vegetables get delivered. It’s a lot of chopping and stirring before the first orders even go out. We don’t have a big fancy dining room with expensive chairs. It’s more about the food and getting it ready. The floor is usually a bit damp from cleaning, and the walls have some stains from the cooking steam. That’s just part of a working kitchen. We have a small crew and we’ve worked together long enough to know how to stay out of each other's way. The sink is always full of pots and pans. We don't really have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy things about us. We just make the food and hope people like it enough to come back. It’s a tiring job and our backs usually ache by the end of the shift. But it’s what we do. Bangalore is a big city with lots of places to eat, and we are just one of them tucked away in our corner. We often share a cup of tea after the lunch rush dies down. It’s the only time we really sit down during the day. Sometimes we forget to turn off the back light at night.
