Rangrej Emu Farms

Our place, Rangrej Emu Farms, is right on Viveknagar Main Road. It’s kind of an interesting spot because you don’t expect to see emus right in the middle of a busy area like this. People walking by often stop and stare through the fence because these birds are pretty tall and look a bit strange if you aren't used to seeing them. We’ve been at this location for a while now, and the birds have become part of the neighborhood scenery. The noise of the traffic from Viveknagar Main Road is constant, but the emus don't seem to mind it much anymore. We spend most of our time cleaning out the pens and making sure they have enough to eat and drink throughout the day. It’s a lot of manual labor, and the birds can be a bit stubborn when you’re trying to move them around for cleaning. The office is just a small room with a desk that’s usually covered in paperwork and old keys. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the animals. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually take a short break in the shade of the main shed. It’s not exactly what people imagine when they think of a farm, being so close to the main road and all, but we make it work here at Viveknagar and just take things one day at a time.
