I run my business from 1 Cubbonpet Main Road, right at the 10th Cross. It’s a busy part of the city, and there’s always something happening right outside the door. My name is Ramanjaneya Gowda, and I’ve been working out of this small space for years. It’s not very big, just enough room for me and the things I need to do my job. The walls are lined with boxes and some old ledgers from when I first started. I don’t believe in throwing things away if they might be useful later. People come in and out all day long, mostly locals who need something handled quickly. I don't use a computer for everything; I still like writing things down in my notebook. It feels more real that way. The traffic on Main Road can be quite loud, so I usually keep the front door closed to keep the dust and noise out. Sometimes it gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but I have a small fan that does the trick. I don’t have any employees, so everything you see here is done by me. If I’m not at the shop, I’m probably out grabbing a coffee or running an errand nearby. It’s a simple way to make a living, and I’ve never wanted much more than a steady stream of work and a place to call my own.
