Rama Rao

Our place is situated at 31/2 Krishnarajendra Road, which everyone just calls KR Road. We are right on the corner of F C Road, directly opposite the Vanivilas Hospital. Being across from the hospital means there is always a lot of activity outside our doors. There are ambulances, people rushing around, and street vendors selling all sorts of things. It is one of the busiest parts of the city. We have been at this location for quite a while. The building is an older one and we share the space with a few other small businesses. Inside, it’s a bit cramped because we have a lot of things stored away. We don’t have much in the way of decoration. There’s a table, a few chairs, and a calendar on the wall that is usually a month behind. We spend a lot of our day just managing the flow of people who come in. The noise from the street is constant, with horns honking and buses stopping right nearby. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out some of the traffic. It’s a very practical environment. We drink a lot of tea to keep going through the afternoon heat. Most of our neighbors are also long-time residents of this stretch of KR Road. We just keep our heads down and get the work done as it comes.
