Mamulpet is always a maze, and we are tucked inside the Arunar Ramesh Building at 113/116. Raja Belts & Novelties is what we call ourselves. As the name says, we have a lot of belts and various other novelty items. The building is old and the stairs can be a bit narrow. Dealing with the wholesale crowd in Mamulpet is quite an experience every single day. There are carts and people everywhere outside. Inside the shop, we try to keep some order, but it is hard with so many different sizes and styles of belts. We have been here for years, and the walls are covered with hooks. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but people who know the area find us easily enough. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations. The stock is the main thing people see. We work long hours because the market starts early and stays busy until late evening. It is often dusty and loud, but that is just how Mamulpet is. We talk to a lot of different people from all over the city who come here to find things they can't get elsewhere. It is hard work, standing on your feet all day and moving boxes around, but we are used to it. We just do our business and go home. That is how it has always been for us here.
