Raj Fashions is located at number 17 in M Byrappa Lane, which is right in the heart of Ranasinghpet in the Cottonpet area. If you know this part of the city, you know it is legendary for textiles and clothing. Our shop is part of that old tradition. The lane is quite narrow, and it is usually packed with people and carts moving goods back and forth. Inside our space, it is all about the fabric. We have rolls of cloth and finished garments stacked up to the ceiling in some places. It is a bit of a squeeze when we have more than a few people inside, but that is the charm of Cottonpet. We don't go in for modern decor or bright spotlights. We use simple tube lights and wooden racks. Most of our day is spent unfolding material, measuring things out, and talking to customers about what they need for the upcoming season. It gets very busy during the festival months, and the whole lane turns into a sea of colors and noise. We have been at 17 M Byrappa Lane for years, and we have seen the styles change, but the way we do business stays pretty much the same. It is about being honest with the quality and making sure the price is fair for the people who walk through our door. It is a hardworking shop in a hardworking neighborhood.
