Rail Road Restaurant

This is Titus Deepak’s place, located at No 10 Sudhamana Nagar. We are up on the 4th floor, right above Rehana Stores in Bangalore. It is a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, but we are always here. The kitchen stays pretty busy from lunch through dinner time. We aren’t a fancy white-tablecloth kind of place, just a spot where people come to eat and relax. You can hear the sounds of the street and the traffic from the windows. We spend a lot of time prepping vegetables and getting the spices right for the day. The menu is simple and we do not change it much because people like what they like. The staff has been together for a while, so we know how to work around each other in the small kitchen space without getting in the way. It gets very hot back there, especially in the evenings when the stoves are all going. We see a lot of people from the nearby offices coming in for a quick bite during their break. Sometimes it is just one person sitting quietly with their phone, other times it is a whole group making a lot of noise. We don't mind either way. We just keep the plates moving and make sure the tables are wiped down. It is just a regular neighborhood restaurant. No big decorations or anything, just food and a place to sit for a while.
