My office is at 185/1 in Basavanagudi, right in the Fort Mohalla area. It’s on Shankar Mutt Street, which is a place with a lot of history. You can hear the bells from the temple nearby sometimes. It’s a very traditional part of town, and I like that. The building is old, but it’s sturdy. I’ve been here for years, and I’ve seen the street change quite a bit. There’s a lot of traffic now, but the spirit of the place is still there. I work out of a small space filled with books and files. It’s not very organized, to be honest, but I know where everything is. My desk is near the window so I can see the people walking down Geethavani. Basavanagudi has a specific rhythm to it. People take their time. I usually have a few visitors every day, mostly people from the community. We sit and talk, and I try to help them with whatever they brought to me. I don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If I’m busy, people just wait on the bench outside. It’s a very casual environment. I drink a lot of coffee from the shop down the road. Most of my day is spent reading or talking. I’ve never felt the need for a big office in a glass building. This place suits me just fine.
