Rachannavar Architects

We are based in Cooke Town, which is a great part of the city to work in. It has that old-school charm that you don't find much anymore. Rachannavar Architects is a small operation. We don't have a huge staff or a slick marketing department. It’s just us doing the actual work of designing homes and offices. Most of our day is spent at the drafting table or on our computers, trying to figure out the best way to use a small plot of land. Space is always an issue in this city, so we spend a lot of time thinking about storage and light. We don't have a set way of doing things. Every project is its own little puzzle. Sometimes we get it right on the first try, and other times we have to go back to the drawing board three or four times. We’re okay with that. It’s better to fix it on paper than when the concrete is already poured. We like to keep things simple and talk to our clients like regular people, not like we’re giving a sales pitch. If you come by, you’ll probably find us mid-discussion about a floor plan or a roof line. We just enjoy the challenge of building something from nothing. It’s a lot of work and long hours, but seeing a house finally finished makes it feel worth it. The neighbors sometimes drop by to say hello.
