Rachana Seeds Industries

A-320, 7Th Main Road in the 2Nd Stage of Peenya Industrial Estate is where you can find us. It’s a loud area, with trucks constantly backing up and the sound of machines coming from every direction. Rachana Seeds Industries is right in the middle of all that noise. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, but not by much because we’ve got the seed cleaning machines running. There’s a constant fine dust in the air that settles on everything, no matter how much we sweep. The breakroom has a fridge that hums way too loudly and a calendar from three years ago still hanging on the wall. We mostly spend our time weighing bags and sealing them up for transport. The lightbulbs in the warehouse flicker sometimes, and we keep saying we’ll change them, but then we get busy and forget. Our desks are old wooden ones that have seen better days, covered in stains and scratches. We get a lot of workers coming in and out, so there’s always a conversation going on about the price of fuel or the weather. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but it’s an industrial estate, so nobody expects it to be. We just focus on the bags and the orders, making sure everything is loaded onto the trucks before the evening traffic makes the roads impossible to navigate.
