Our office is over in Koramangala, right near the Seva Sadan Boys Hostel. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, so there is always some noise from the street. Being chartered accountants, we spend most of our time looking at spreadsheets and tax papers. It’s a lot of calculating and double-checking numbers to make sure everything matches up for the filings. We started out small and we’ve just stayed here in this spot because it's convenient for the clients who live around this part of town. You’ll usually see a few of us hunched over computers or sorting through folders of receipts. Tax season is obviously our busiest time and the office gets a bit messy with all the paperwork everywhere. We don't have fancy furniture or anything like that, just sturdy desks and enough chairs for when someone drops by to discuss their accounts. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear, but we’re used to it. People come to us when they are worried about their audits or just need someone to help with the GST stuff. It’s straightforward work that requires a lot of patience. We just keep our heads down and get the filing done. It’s not a big corporate firm, just a local place where we know most of our clients by name. We usually have a pot of coffee going in the back room to keep us awake during the late evenings.
