Prestige Group

If you are looking for where we spend our time, we are over at the Jem Concrete Blocks Unit, specifically at number 11. We are part of the Prestige Group setup out here on the edges of Bangalore. The address is a bit of a mouthful to say out loud—it’s Chikanayakanahalli Village, Doddakanahalli Post, right off the main Sarjapur Road. It is a very busy area these days because of all the new construction projects and big buildings going up everywhere you look. Ashokkumar is the one who is usually around here keeping an eye on how things are moving. It is a pretty dusty environment to work in, which I guess you would expect for a place that makes concrete blocks, but that is just the nature of the business. We deal with a lot of heavy materials and there is a fair amount of noise from the machinery running throughout the day. Sarjapur Road has changed so much lately, getting way more crowded and loud than it used to be just a few years ago. Working out of the village area gives the place a slightly different, more relaxed feel than the middle of the city. We spend most of our hours managing the different units and making sure the supplies are moving out to the sites. It is hard physical work, and the days can feel very long, especially when the sun is beating down on the yard. We don't have fancy rooms, just the work.
