My office is up on the second floor of the H S S and H M S Complex. It’s right on Cubbonpet Main Road, number 7. If you know this area, you know it’s packed with buildings and narrow streets, but the complex is easy enough to find once you’re on the main stretch. Being on the second floor gives me a bit of a break from the noise on the street level. It’s not a huge place, just a few rooms where we handle everything. I’ve spent a lot of years in this building. The stairs are a bit steep, and the hallway isn't always the brightest, but it’s a solid place to work. I don't bother with fancy signs or anything. My name is on the door and that’s about it. People come here because they know where I am and they know I’ve been here for years. It’s a bit of a maze in Cubbonpet if you’re new, but once you find the complex, it’s straightforward. I usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while I sort through my papers. It’s a lot of old-fashioned work, sitting at a desk and getting things done. The building has a lot of other small businesses too, so there’s always someone coming or going in the stairwell. It feels like a real community of people just trying to make a living and pay the rent every month.
