Prabhakara Gift Palace

We have two floors here at 154 and 158 on Sampige Road. Being in Malleshwaram means it is always loud outside with the buses and people walking by. The first floor is mostly for the smaller items, and then you have to go up the stairs to the second floor to see the rest. We have a lot of clocks on the walls, and sometimes they all chime at different times, which is a bit funny. There are shelves of vases, dinner sets, and those big decorative pieces that people buy for weddings. It is a lot of work keeping everything dusted because the windows stay open to catch a breeze. We spend a lot of time moving boxes up and down between the two levels. The stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you are carrying something breakable. Malleshwaram is a busy area, especially during the festival seasons, and the shop gets really packed then. We just try to keep up with the crowd and make sure everyone finds what they are looking for. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. It is a long day standing on the tiled floors, but we like being right here on the main road. The lighting is okay, though the back corners are a bit dark. It is just a regular local shop where we have been for years.
