Philips Software Centre

Philips Software Centre is situated in Boopasandra, right along the Andheri Kurla Road. It is a busy stretch of road, and there is always something going on outside our windows. The building we are in is quite standard for this area—nothing that would make you stop and stare, but it is a good, solid place to work. Inside, it is mostly open-plan desks where the developers spend their time. We do not have a lot of the gimmicks you see in modern tech offices like bean bags or indoor slides. We just have good chairs and enough coffee to keep everyone going through the afternoon slump. Most of the staff takes the local transport, so the conversation in the morning is usually about how long the commute took today. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed; we do not care much about formal clothes as long as the work is getting done. We have got a mix of experienced people and some younger faces, all just trying to figure out the best way to solve the latest technical glitch. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, and we have to wear sweaters even when it is hot outside, but that is just how it goes. We have been in this Boopasandra location for a while, and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit around us. It is just a regular workplace where we try to stay productive.
