Knitters India

Our workshop is at No. 52, 9th Cross in the Doddanna Industrial Estate. It is right near Peenya 2nd Stage. If you know this area, you know it is all about industry and hard work. Knitters India is right in the middle of it. The 9th Cross is usually full of parked bikes and delivery vans. Inside our unit, it is quite noisy because of the knitting machines. They make a rhythmic sound that you get used to after a few days. We don't have any carpeted floors or air-conditioned lobbies. It’s a concrete floor and high ceilings. We focus on the production and nothing else. Peenya is a place where you just get the work done. Our crew starts early and we usually finish late if there is a big order. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just have a production schedule. There is always lint in the air and the smell of machine oil. That’s just how it is in a real factory. We have some big windows that let in some light, but mostly we rely on the overhead tubes. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the building. We just want to make sure the knits come out the way they are supposed to. It’s a tough, honest way to work, and we’ve been doing it here in the estate for quite a while.
