Being out here in the Byrasandra GIDC Industrial Area at 89/37 means things are a bit different than a city office. It gets pretty dusty with all the trucks moving around, so we’re always wiping down the keyboards. We do technical link work, which sounds more complicated than it really is once you get the hang of it. The building is solid and keeps the heat out fairly well during the afternoons. We have a small lunch room where we all sit together, mostly talking about the cricket or what happened on the news. There isn't any fancy art on the walls, just some calendars and a map of the area that’s a bit out of date. We’ve been at this spot for a few years and the locals know us by now. The gate squeaks every time someone opens it, which is how we know a delivery is coming. We don’t spend much time on meetings; we’d rather just get to the work and finish it up. It can get a bit loud with the machinery from the place next door, but we just turn up the radio a little. It’s a practical space for practical work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a lobby or free espresso. We just have a kettle and some good enough biscuits in the cupboard. It’s a bit of a trek to get here, but once you’re inside, it’s just a normal place where people work hard.
