Patel Novelties Store

Patel Novelties Store is located at 1228, which is right across from the bus stand in Vijaya Nagar. Because we are so close to the buses, we get a lot of people who are just passing through and need something quick. We sell things like pens, small notebooks, toys, and various plastic items. The shop is small and can get quite cramped when a group of people comes in at once. We have been here for a long time, so we have seen many different bus routes come and go. The building is not new, and you can see some cracks in the walls, but it serves us well enough. We don't have any air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that hums quite loudly. We handle all the work ourselves, from opening the shutters in the morning to sweeping up at night. There are no fancy displays or bright lights here. We just put the items out where people can see them. Sometimes we run out of things and it takes a few days for the new stock to arrive, as we don't have a big warehouse. It’s a simple operation and we like it that way. We aren't trying to compete with the big malls. We just provide a convenient place for commuters and locals to pick up small things. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. Most people are in a hurry to catch their bus and we understand that.
