Finding us at 38, 2nd bhoiwada can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't from around here. Bhuleshwar is a maze of narrow streets and old buildings. We are on the 2nd floor. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to be careful coming up. Padia Exports Pvt. Ltd. operates out of a space that is packed to the ceiling with samples and files. It’s a bit cramped, but we make it work. The noise from the market downstairs never really stops. You hear the carts rattling over the stones and people shouting all day. It’s a lively place to work, that’s for sure. We don’t have much in the way of air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that buzz. We spend most of our time checking orders and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls. Sometimes we have to go down to the street to meet someone because they can't find the entrance. It’s not a fancy setup. We have tea from the guy who carries a kettle around the building. It’s hot and strong. Most of us have been here for years, so we know every creak in the floorboards. We don’t bother with corporate meetings. We just talk across the desks while we work. It’s the way things have always been done in this part of town. We are used to the chaos and the pace here. We stay busy until the sun goes down and then some.
