Om Shakthi Envelopes & Punching

We are located at number 39 on Cottonpet Law College Road. It’s a narrow street, and things can get pretty tight when the paper delivery trucks arrive. Om Shakthi Envelopes & Punching is a small operation, mostly focused on converting large sheets of paper into something useful. We have a couple of old punching machines that make a very specific rhythmic thumping sound all day long. If the machines stop, it feels strangely quiet in here. We spend a lot of time sorting through different weights of paper and checking the alignment on the die-cuts. It’s the kind of work that requires you to pay attention, or you end up wasting a whole lot of material. The air is always a bit dry from the paper dust, and we keep stacks of finished envelopes everywhere until they are picked up. We aren't looking to change the world or anything like that. We just provide a service that people in the neighborhood need, whether it's for weddings or business mailings. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so we all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the area. It’s a local business in every sense of the word. We don't have a website or a fancy logo, just the sign above the door and the work we do with our hands every day. It’s enough for us.
