Bharath Stationery

Bharath Stationery is our little place in Marathahalli at Nanpura 1. It is packed with stuff from the floor all the way to the ceiling. If you come inside, you will see notebooks piled up everywhere and pens sitting in open boxes on the front counter. It gets to be a real squeeze when more than two or three people come in at the same time. I usually know where everything is kept, even if the shelves look like a total mess to anyone else. We have all the basic things like erasers, rulers, and those big colored chart papers that school kids always need for their last-minute projects. Sometimes I forget to order enough blue ink pens and then everyone seems to want them at once. The light inside is a bit dim because the tall shelves block the windows. We have an old ceiling fan that makes a clicking noise all through the afternoon, but it helps with the heat. People stop by on their way home to get a few photocopies or maybe just a single pencil. I keep the staplers and tape right near the front because they get used the most. The street outside is very busy so there is always a layer of dust on the front display. I spend a lot of time wiping the glass counter down. It is just a local shop where we sell paper and pens to whoever needs them for school or work.
