Om Gokul

Killari Road is one of those streets where you really have to watch where you’re walking because it’s so narrow and packed with people. Om Gokul is at number 169, tucked away among all the other buildings in this part of town. We’ve been operating out of this space for quite some time, and the walls show it. It’s a bit cramped inside, and the lighting isn’t the brightest, but we know where everything is kept. The street noise outside is constant, with horns and people shouting, but you get used to it after a few years. We sell various goods that local traders and residents need. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning or fancy displays. Mostly, it’s just stacks of boxes and us sitting at the old wooden desk checking off lists. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just sit there in the dark talking to whoever happens to be in the shop at the time. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, I suppose. No computers, just notebooks and pens. We see a lot of the same faces every week, which is nice. Chickpet and the surrounding roads like Killari are stressful for some, but for us, it’s just home. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure the orders are handled. No one here is in a huge rush, which is just fine.
