Our place is spread across two spots, number 42 and 54, right in the Old Hongkong Bazar. If you know where the Tribhuvan Theatre is at Goya Gate, we are just opposite that. Gandhi Nagar is a hectic place to work, honestly. Every morning there is a rush to get the shutters up before the crowds start moving through the bazaar. Having two units means we are constantly running back and forth across the walkway. One side usually handles the stock and the other is where we talk to people. It’s not a polished corporate office or anything like that. There are crates and bags sitting around and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint. We’ve been in this market for years. You get to know the other shopkeepers well when you spend twelve hours a day next to them. The noise from the theatre crowds can be a bit much in the evenings, but it brings people into the area which is good for us. We handle a lot of different items here, mostly stuff that people need for their daily business. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the shelves. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in ledgers because that’s how we learned to do it. It is just how things go at Nida Zain Enterprises.
