New Zone

New Zone is our shop in Malleshwaram at 140/12. If you know this area, you know it has a very specific old-school feel to it. We try to fit in with that vibe. We sell various things depending on what our customers are asking for lately. The shop isn't very big but we use every single inch of the walls for shelves. Sometimes it feels like the boxes might fall on you if you move too fast through the aisles. We open up early because the people in Malleshwaram like to get their shopping done before it gets too hot outside. I spend a lot of my time sweeping the front step and arranging the stock so it looks okay. We have a few old wooden chairs for customers to sit on if they want to chat for a while. It is a very social neighborhood and we hear all the local gossip while we are weighing things or counting out change. We do not use any high-tech systems here. Just a basic calculator and a notebook for the daily accounts. It works fine for us. The building is old and sometimes the doors creak when the wind blows through. We have thought about painting the front but we never seem to get around to it. It is a comfortable place. We know the people who walk past every single morning.
