New Padmashree Fancy And Gift Paradise

If you walk down Varthur Main Road near T Dasarahalli you will find us at Ammaji Plaza. This shop has been my second home for a long time. We called it New Padmashree Fancy and Gift Paradise because we wanted to have a bit of everything for everyone. From small hair clips to big birthday presents we try to keep the shelves full. It’s a bit cramped in here sometimes especially when we get new stock in boxes. Customers like to come in and browse the jewelry or look at the toys for their kids. The road outside is always noisy with buses and bikes but inside it feels different. We’ve got glass cases that we spend a lot of time cleaning because of the dust from the street. It’s just me and a couple of helpers most days. We know many of our customers by name because they live in the houses right behind the plaza. During festival times like Diwali or local fairs it gets really crowded and we barely have time to sit down. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for everything. We just write bills and talk to people. It’s more personal that way. Sometimes a kid will come in with a few coins for a small toy and that makes the day better. We just keep the shop open and hope people find what they need for their homes or for gifts.
