If you are looking for us, we are right in Chickpet on U.M. Lane. It is one of those narrow lanes where it gets a bit tight when two people try to walk past each other with bags. We’ve been at this spot for quite a bit. New India Times isn't a huge place, just a regular shop where we handle watch repairs and sales. The lane can get pretty muddy when it rains, so we spend a lot of time mopping the floor so it stays decent for whoever walks in. It’s mostly locals who come by, though sometimes a traveler gets lost and ends up at our door asking for directions. We don't mind. We keep things pretty simple here. There’s no big sign or flashing lights, just our name on the board outside. Usually, I'm sitting behind the counter working on a movement or looking through a loupe. My hands are usually a bit oily from the tools, but that’s the job. It’s a quiet enough life most days, despite the bustle of Chickpet just a few turns away. We don't have fancy furniture or a coffee machine for guests. Just a stool or two if you need to wait while we check a spring or a battery. We try to keep things honest and just do the work that comes our way. The ceiling has a bit of a water mark from an old leak, but it is dry now. That is pretty much it.
