Our office is actually inside Attupuram House, which is Binu Xavier’s place in Kavalam. Being in Kerala, specifically in the Alleppey area, means things move a bit slower than in the big cities. The house is surrounded by water and trees, so it’s quite peaceful here. We spend a lot of time on the phones talking to people about their trips. The desk is always covered in maps and old notebooks where we jot down notes. It’s not like a regular office building in Bangalore. Since it’s a house, there’s always the smell of lunch being cooked nearby. The rain can be really heavy here, and when it pours, we can barely hear anything else over the sound on the roof.
