Nagaiah

Getting up to the second floor of the Sandhya Lodge building on Subedar Chatram Road isn’t too bad once you’re used to it. Nagaiah has been running things from here for a while, and even though the stairs can feel a bit steep on a hot day, it’s home for us. The address is 231, and it’s right in the middle of all the noise and energy of the road downstairs. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes with all the different rooms and hallways, but we’re easy enough to find if you just keep going up. The lodge itself has a lot of history, and you can see it in the walls and the way the light comes in through the windows. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Usually, you’ll just find one of us sitting at a desk covered in papers. We deal with people from all over who are staying in the lodge or just passing through the area. It gets loud outside with the buses and the horns, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of us working. We try to keep things simple here. There’s no need for anything fancy when you’re just trying to help folks out and get through the day’s work. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out or light a candle if it’s late. That’s just how things go around here. It is just a basic office space.
