N. K. Subbiah Setty And Sons has been a part of Mamulpet for a long time. We’re in the Kokila Building at number 45. If you've ever been to Mamulpet, you know it's a hub for all sorts of trade. Our building is right in the middle of it all. It’s a family business, passed down through the years, so we’ve seen a lot of changes in the market. We mostly deal with textiles and traditional goods. The space inside is quite cramped because we have so much stock piled up. Every corner is filled with something. We don't really use computers for everything; a lot of our accounts are still done on paper because that's how we've always done it. It works for us. Customers come in, we talk, they look at the goods, and we settle things. It’s very personal. We know most of our regular buyers by name. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when many people show up at once, but we manage to keep things moving. The building itself is old, but it has a lot of history. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. People know where we are and what we do. It’s just a place where we work hard and look after the family legacy. We open early and stay until the last customer leaves. It’s a simple life, focused on the trade and the community around us here in Mamulpet. It’s busy but it’s our life.
