My House Boats Dot Com

We are up on the second floor of a building called Peace Cottage. It is number 22/6. The place is right on the Outer Ring Road, so you can imagine the noise from the cars and buses is pretty constant. There is a Volkswagen showroom right across from us, which is how most people find the place. It’s a bit of a contrast, having a name like Peace Cottage while being next to such a busy road. My House Boats Dot Com is run from here. It’s mostly desks, computers, and a lot of phone calls about boat trips and bookings. We spend the day looking at photos of water and boats while the traffic crawls along outside. The office isn't very large, and it gets a bit cramped when everyone is in. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and notes pinned up. The air conditioner hums in the corner to drown out the street noise. Sometimes the lift in the building is temperamental, so we end up taking the stairs. It’s a regular workspace for us. We don't do much in the way of formal meetings. Most of the time, we are just busy coordinating things and making sure the schedules are right. It’s a straightforward job in a busy part of Bangalore. We keep the kettle going for tea and just get through the pile of work on our desks.
