We are located at 267 on 9th Cross, right across from the Muzammil Masjid in Umer Nagar. It’s a busy little corner of Bangalore near the Arabic College. You can hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which gives the place a specific rhythm. Our office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and papers everywhere. We do a lot of coordination work from this spot. People are always coming and going, dropping off documents or asking questions. The street outside is narrow, so parking is always a headache for everyone. We usually just tell people to find a spot wherever they can. It’s a local operation. We know the neighbors and the shops on the corner. We spend our mornings going through emails and our afternoons on the phone. It gets pretty warm in the office around mid-afternoon, so we keep the windows open to catch any breeze we can get. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time yet. We are too busy keeping up with the daily tasks. It’s not fancy, just a place where we come to get the job done. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to catch up on. That’s just the way it is here in Umer Nagar. We have a small fridge in the back that we use for our lunches. It makes a loud humming noise, but it keeps our water cold during the hot months. Most of us take the bus to work.
