Mphasis

Our workplace is located at 19 2nd Cross, 1st Main in the Cholurpalya neighborhood, right off Magadi Road in Bangalore. It’s a pretty typical part of the city, meaning it’s always busy and there’s usually a bit of dust from the traffic. At Mphasis, we have a lot of people working together in a building that’s seen plenty of use over the years. We aren't a startup with beanbags or free snacks; we’re just a regular office with rows of desks and a lot of computers. Most of us arrive early to try and beat the worst of the Magadi Road traffic, and we spend the day working through various technical tasks. The lighting isn't the best, and the elevators are sometimes a bit slow, but it’s where we get things done. We have a routine of taking a tea break in the afternoon, which is when most of the actual socializing happens. We don’t use fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just IT work and data management, and we take it as it comes. We aren't trying to be the most polished company in Bangalore. We’re just a bunch of people who know how to handle the systems we work on and who want to do a solid day's work. The office isn't perfect, and the neighborhood is loud, but it’s our daily reality and we are quite used to it by now.
