Monarch Hotel

We’ve been here in Bangalore for quite some time now, just running the Monarch Hotel. It is a busy city, and our spot is right in the middle of all that noise and movement. People mostly stop by when they have work meetings or maybe they are just passing through to see some relatives. We don't really do anything fancy here. The rooms are what you’d expect for a place like this. Some days are busier than others, especially when there’s a lot going on in the city. We try to keep things tidy, but it is an old building so it has its little quirks. The staff here has been around for years. We know the local shops and where to get a decent tea nearby. If the elevator is acting up, we just take the stairs, it’s not a big deal. Mostly, it’s just us doing our jobs and making sure people have a bed to sleep in at night. Bangalore has changed a lot since we first started, but we are still here in the same spot. It gets a bit crowded on the streets outside, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just a desk and some chairs where you can sit and wait. It works for the folks who stay with us. Sometimes we run out of towels if the laundry is late, but we manage. It’s just a regular hotel.
