Minto Clothing Company

Minto Clothing Company is based over at No. 2 and 3, on the 1st-A Cross in Sudhamanagar. It’s a fairly straightforward setup we have here. The neighborhood is a mix of houses and small workshops, so there is always a lot of activity on the street. Our workspace is mostly filled with the sound of sewing machines and people cutting fabric. We have two units next to each other to handle everything. The walls are painted a simple white, though they have some scuffs from moving tables around. We don’t have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a production space where we get the actual work done. There are always piles of thread and scraps of cloth on the floor by the end of the shift. We usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot. The overhead lights are bright because the work needs a lot of attention to detail. We take our breaks on the front steps sometimes just to see what’s going on in Sudhamanagar. It’s a tight-knit area, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the local traffic. Most of our day is spent making sure the orders are ready on time. We don't use much technology besides the basics, preferring to do things by hand where it counts. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it keeps us busy and the shop moving forward every day.
