Merchandiser

We operate out of 2 Silver Oak Apt, which is on the 1st Main road in Kavalbyrasandra. It’s a bit of a different setup since we are based in an apartment building in Bangalore, but it works for us. Being a merchandiser means we have a lot of samples and bits of fabric or products coming in and out all the time. Sometimes the living room area is just covered in boxes, but that’s just how the business goes. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few of us making sure everything is tracked and sent to the right places. Kavalbyrasandra is a busy neighborhood, so there’s always something happening outside, which keeps things interesting. We like being here because it’s easy to get to different parts of the city from this side of Bangalore. The apartment isn't a showroom, it's more like a workshop where we spend our days checking quality and talking to suppliers. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything, so you have to know where you’re going to find us at Silver Oak. It’s a grounded way to run a business, and we don’t feel the need for a big glass office. We just focus on the products and making sure the orders are right. It’s a bit cramped at times, but we make it work and we’ve been doing it this way for a while now without any complaints.
