We are right across from the Bank of Maharashtra in Malleswaram West. If you’ve walked down this part of the road, you probably saw our sign for Mementos. It’s not a very big shop, but we have managed to cram a lot into the space over the years. The glass display cases are a bit old and they squeak when you open them, but they hold all the little things people like to buy for birthdays or just to keep on a shelf. Some mornings it’s quiet and I just sit here watching the traffic go by or listening to the bank customers complaining about the parking. Malleswaram has changed quite a bit since we first started at number 108, but the street still feels the same in a way. The shelves are mostly filled with trophies, small statues, and those wooden plaques that people get engraved. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly, so sometimes we have to go digging in the back room to find a specific size or color. It gets a bit dusty back there, to be honest. Usually, it’s just me or one of the boys standing behind the counter. We don’t do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here. If the weather is nice, we keep the front door propped open to get a breeze, even though the road noise can get pretty loud during the rush hour. That's just how it is here.
