Mejbaania Restaurant

Mejbaania Restaurant is right in the middle of R.T. Nagar. It’s a lively spot in Bangalore and there is always a lot of noise from the bikes and cars outside. We spend most of our time in the kitchen or out front waiting on the tables. The smell of spices is always in the air here. We don't have a very fancy setup with decorations or anything. It’s just tables and chairs and a place for people to eat their lunch or dinner. R.T. Nagar is a place where people are always on the move, so we get a lot of workers and students coming in. The floors need sweeping constantly because of all the feet coming through. We have a small team in the back who does all the cooking. They get pretty hot back there but they keep going. We buy our vegetables and meat from the local markets nearby every morning. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we have to scramble a bit. That’s just how the restaurant business works. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just want to serve the food and make sure people don't leave hungry. The sign outside has been there for years and it’s a bit dusty. We mostly know the people who live on the surrounding streets. It’s a local place for local people. We are just happy to be part of the neighborhood.
