Mehtas Gift Shop

Mehtas Gift Shop is on the 1st floor of the Pu Building, right there at Prarthana Samaj in the Girgaon area. If you walk along Mahathma Gandhi Road, you’ll find us easily enough. Being on the first floor means we aren't right on the sidewalk, so it's a little bit quieter inside than it is out on the street. We’ve filled the room with all sorts of gift items, from clocks to picture frames and little decorative pieces. The stairs leading up can be a bit steep, but people don't seem to mind coming up to see what we have. Girgaon is a historic part of the city, and Mahathma Gandhi Road is always buzzing with people and cars. We spend our days arranging the displays and talking to the regulars who have been coming to us for years. It’s not a massive corporate store; it’s just our family-run space where we keep track of everything ourselves. We write down our sales in a ledger and keep an eye on what’s running low. Sometimes the sun shines right through the windows and makes the whole shop feel warm. We like it here because we get to see the city life from our windows while we work. It’s a practical little shop where we focus on keeping the shelves full and making sure the place is tidy for whoever walks in.
